There are moments in a project when an idea truly becomes something you can hold in your hands. For us at The Word Bricks, one of those moments was switching on our own UV printer for the very first time and watching our minifigure faces and torsos come to life, layer by layer. What began as sketches and countless design revisions suddenly became real, physical pieces—ready to tell stories from the Bible in a whole new, hands-on way.
Printing our own minifigures has given us a deeper connection to every character we create. From carefully aligning official LEGO® minifigure blanks to fine-tuning ink density for crisp lines and rich colors, each step is done with intention and care. We test, adjust, (we did a lot of that, see picture below) and print again until every face reflects the personality, emotion, and biblical role of the figure it represents. It’s a process that combines craftsmanship, technology, and faith-driven purpose.
One of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been seeing the first complete torsos come off the printer. Watching garments, symbols, and subtle design details appear on the plastic surface feels almost like witnessing a story being written in real time. These aren’t just parts—they’re tools for teaching, storytelling and our prayer is that this way more children hear the Gospel, get to know who Jesus is and will know who to call on when they have no hope: It is what saved me as I was taught about Jesus as a child and I want that for others too.
